L'aquaponie est une technique qui consiste à unir l'aquaculture (élevage de truites) et le maraîchage (production de légumes et de fruits classiques, de plantes aromatiques, de fleurs comestibles, de mini-légumes et de micro-pousses) dans un circuit fermé vertueux.

Les plantes sont plongées dans un circuit d'eau où elles trouvent les nutriments fournis par les poissons au travers de leurs déjections. Celles-ci sont dégradées par des bactéries naturellement présentes. Les plantes font un dernier travail de filtration et vont redonner de l'eau propre aux poissons.

L'exploitation Agrosymbiose, installée sous 1500m2 de serre bioclimatique, est équipée d'un bassin de récupération d'eau de pluie lui permettant d'être autonome en eau. Le système permet par ailleurs de réaliser 90% d'économies d'eau par rapport à l'agriculture conventionnelle et de bannir les produits phytosanitaires et les antibiotiques.

Les productions sont vendues en circuits courts et en vente directe.

Il s'agit de la première ferme aquaponique en ex-Languedoc-Roussillon et d'un projet porté par trois Jeunes Agriculteurs ayant remporté le prix de l'innovation lors de la 1ère édition des Trophées de l'Agriculture Occitanie en février dernier. L'accompagnement de la CR sur ce projet d'agriculture durable et responsable a été validé par nos élus en mars 2021.

La Caisse régionale a financé la construction, l'aménagement de la serre et l'achat de matériels pour démarrer l'exploitation de cette activité d'aquaponie.

Le Crédit Agricole du Languedoc se place comme un interlocuteur privilégié de l'installation de jeunes agriculteurs sur son territoire. Ce projet innovant répond aux défis environnementaux pour lesquels le Crédit Agricole s’engage.
